Richard Karlos | President & CEO
Rick Karlos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Leetex Construction, a thirty three (33) year premier provider of design-build, construction management, renovation and general contracting services, has over 43 years of experience in the successful delivery of projects.
Rick is personally involved in providing executive support throughout the life-cycle of each Leetex project, encompassing pre-construction planning and design with the client and project team, to construction feasibility, monitoring cost and schedule, through to obtainment of the Certificate of Occupancy. His multiple-task management approach enables him to monitor a number of projects at various stages of development and construction.
Rick is a member of the Choctaw Tribe, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and is also certified by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs.
He served in the Texas National Guard and United States Army Reserve.
Rick is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Doug Patterson | Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Doug Patterson is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Leetex Construction. He is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in support of the Leetex Construction mission and vision, and enhancing internal organization processes and infrastructure to ensure continuous growth.
He is also responsible for managing work acquisition, client relationships for Leetex’s private and public construction projects.
With over 36 years of experience in the construction industry, Doug has a wealth of construction management knowledge and experience, having served in every key role of a building construction project team, including Construction Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Executive and Vice President.
His responsibilities included identifying and cultivating client relationships, recruiting and developing key staff members, overseeing preconstruction efforts, and ensuring that all construction and renovation projects adhere to Leetex’s highest safety and quality standards. Doug is an advocate of leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to enhance the performance of his project teams and provide added value to his clients and their projects.
Doug is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction.
Tom Dunlap | Senior Vice President
Tom has overall responsibility for marketing, business development and corporate relations policy for Leetex Construction. He brings two decades of experiences and knowledge of the private sector business community as well his extensive relations in the government. These experiences are enhanced by his long and successful history working with numerous Native American tribes throughout the Southwest, Florida and West coast.
Tom is a retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel with service in Viet Nam and Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He holds the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Tom was also awarded the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia Service medal for contributions during Desert Storm. Tom is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
He is an active member of Highland Park Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas and the Preston Center Rotary Club.
Tom has a Master of Business Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Alan Grimes, LEED AP | Vice President of Operati ons
Alan Grimes brings over 30 years of diversified experience in the construction industry to the Leetex team. As Vice President of Operations, Alan is responsible for the overall performance and success of each project. He oversees the flow of information through the project managers from each client, design team and subcontractors. Alan must insure that the project team continually understands and maintains the project schedule, budgets, site safety, and all quality issues. He also ensures that the entire project team has the skills and experience to successfully complete the project.
Over the past 10 years, Alan has a combined management experience of over $75 million in construction projects. Alan has led the completion effort on a number of sustainable construction projects that have been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and he is experienced with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building requirements.
Alan is a graduate of West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction.
Guy Gordon | Vice President of Preconstruction
Guy's experience spans more than 30 years of preconstruction and construction projects throughout the United States. He manages the Leetex Estimating team, and is involved on all projects in preconstruction.
Guy has been involved in preconstruction and construction phase of many types of projects including health care, aviation, travel plazas for several Native American tribes, hospitality/gaming, retail, manufacturing, retirement centers, sports venues, medical centers, and Energy Assessment of existing buildings.
As Vice President of Preconstruction, Guy has overall responsibility for the cost estimating and budgeting activities for all projects and offers our clients conceptual cost estimating, project support during construction preconstruction, and assists with the field operations cost estimating.
He can take the “idea” of an Owner and Architect from concept to reality by managing the preliminary activities from budget presentations and conceptual cost models to complete GMP estimates. Guy is adept at reading ”between the lines” on preliminary drawings and accurately interpreting the Owner's or Architect's ideas into realistic numerical values. His experience in all aspects of construction is a vital asset in preparing a realistic and accurate estimate.
An important part of this preconstruction process is to dissect each project to determine what Value Engineering or Value Added ideas and cost savings that should be considered by the Owner and Architect.
